Club Vision

The Kaiapoi RFC vision is to maintain the club's reputation of being at the forefront of rugby in North Canterbury by catering for all local rugby players from the age of 5 years including Age Grade, Open Grade, Women, Representative, Golden Oldies.

Mission Statement

The Kaiapoi RFC is focused to meet all challenges with a very sound club structure and a great desire to serve its members to the best of its ability including a strong focus upon the following; Individual and team achievement on and off the rugby field, Development of existing and new coaching staff, Management of the Clubs Affairs and maintenance of the clubs facilities including Playing fields, Clubrooms and changing rooms.

About Us

The Kaiapoi Rugby Football Club is situated in the heart of the town of Kaiapoi with a population of about 11,000 people. The town is always growing with a number of new subdivisions currently being developed.  As a result of the Canterbury Earthquakes in 2010 and 2011 predictions are the town size will increase vastly in the coming years with the population move to the north of Christchurch.
 
The town is steeped in history along with the Rugby Club which was started in 1883. While a number of clubs have come and gone or had to amalgamate to keep going, Kaiapoi has always remained strong and will continue to do so into the future.  
 
The club caters for all grades from Under Sixes to Seniors and also includes the only Women's team in North Canterbury and a Golden Oldies team. Over the years the club has been very successful in all grades collecting a number championship titles. We are well represented at both North Canterbury and Canterbury Country representative levels.  
 
We are very community orientated and offer support in a number of projects about the town. Our club rooms are utilised by a number of community and council groups on a regular basis. We have been used as a civil defence base and as a welfare centre.

Membership

We continue to offer reasonable player membership fees for all grades. This fee goes a long way towards us meeting our day to day running costs. It also covers the after match food that is provided from under sixes through to seniors, that are regarded as the best in North Canterbury.
 
We have a strong Golden Oldies grade for those looking for the more social side of playing rugby.
 
We also have the only Women's team based in the North Canterbury area. They play in the Christchurch Metro competition and over the years have been very successful. Any women of all ages are welcome to join. They have a very good social side too.
 
For those who have finished their playing days we have a Supporters Club membership. This membership is reasonably priced and offers members discounts at the bar.
